| About CITE-NJ  Founded in 1983, as the Council of Action for Minority Professionals, Inc. (CAMP) was renamed Consortium of Information and Telecommunications Executives, Inc. (CITE) –New Jersey in 2002. The local chapter is an organization of devoted management and associate employees within Verizon New Jersey. CITE-NJ is dedicated to promoting individual growth and development for its members while providing an avenue of exchange between its members. Our focus is on how to succeed within the corporate environment through membership, participation in conferences, forums, seminars and developmental workshops to include general membership meetings.
Through the years, CITE-NJ has provided the vehicle for strengthening and development of organizational and leadership skills by becoming members of various organizations, such as the Regional Consortium of Information and Telecommunications Executives, Inc. (CITE) organization, the National Association of Black Telecommunications Professional (NABTP), National Association of Minorities in Cable (NAMIC), and the National Hispanic Employee Association (NHEA). In partnering with these organizations CITE-NJ believes and understands that collectively we possess the experience, skills and level of understanding to be change agents as Verizon forges toward excellence through diversity.
CITE-NJ has also presented numerous career development seminars, co-sponsored annual cultural events including Black History celebrations across the state and supported our communities through participation in the CHOICES Anti-Dropout Program, The READY Scholars Mentoring Program and our own CITE-NJ Scholarship, to name a few.
In addition, we are committed to supporting our communities by our annual scholarship awards distributed to urban high school students, our annual toy drive which is distributed to battered women’s shelters and various hospitals and a clothing drive which is divided between the homeless and the battered women’s shelter.
We believe that, collectively, we possess the experience, skills and level of understanding needed to be change agents as Verizon forges towards excellence through diversity. We endeavor, therefore, to build and secure the platform within Verizon on which boundless culturally diverse ideas, products and services can be offered to an increasingly multicultural customer base.
